Hi currently have a Epcot reservation tomorrow but am now thinking I want to MK. Do I need to check into Epcot first and then head to MK? Park hopping is new to me . Thanks

    Hiya Kelly!

Welcome to planDisney! Isn't it wonderful that your decision-making right now involves Magic Kingdom Park and EPCOT? I am loving your life right now.

So let's get started. There are two scenarios for you and I have a suspicion you are in the second.

    1. If you have a standard date-based theme park ticket then you DO NOT need to worry about your theme park reservations as they are not needed anymore for these types of tickets. Just visit the Park you want to go to!
    2. However, if you have an Annual Pass or a ticket that is not date-based such as a Florida Resident Disney Thrills Ticket or a Disney Military Salute Ticket then you will have to either modify your existing reservation or visit EPCOT, enter the Park and then leave to head to Magic Kingdom Park. These tickets require a theme park reservation and you will have to work within the rules to Park Hop

The Theme Park Reservation Availability Calendar is showing that there are plenty of reservations available for any of the Parks tomorrow so if you change your mind definitively then just go ahead and edit your reservation. This way you don't have to visit EPCOT and race over to Magic Kingdom Park. I think starting at Magic Kingdom Park is a great strategy. It looks like tomorrow, this park opens at 7:30 AM for Early Entry (which is for guests staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel) and then at 8 AM for all other guests. EPCOT is opening tomorrow at 8:30 AM for Early Entry and at 9:00 AM for all other guests. World Showcase doesn't open till around 11 AM. This means that morning in Magic Kingdom Park and then a hop to EPCOT is a very strategic day and a good use of your time. There is no specific time you have to wait for when Park Hopping. Just head over to your next Park whenever you like. If you don't have an Annual Pass and have to pay for parking know that if you paid once to park at one Park then you are good to go for the whole day! Just show your parking receipt to the Cast Member at the Parks you are hopping to.

I hope this helps and if you have any questions you know where to go!

    Happy Planning!
