I am currently buying gift cards in CAD for a future trip. When I add a gift card to the Disney portal, it shows an amount in USD based on yesterday’s exchange rate. I wonder, is that amount locked in or will it change again when the time comes to use it?

    Hi Nadia!

Thank you for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I reached out to my fellow panelists that reside in Canada to double check on this for you!

When you purchase a Disney Gift Card in Canadian dollars that will remain the value of your gift card until you use it. When you arrive at The Most Magical Place on Earth and begin using your gift card, the value charged will be based on the previous day market close exchange rate. Unlike many credit cards, there is no transaction fee for this so Disney Gift Cards are a great way to budget for your trip without that additional expense!

I hope this helps in planning your upcoming visit! Please come back if we can help in any other way.
