What are the current rules on popcorn refill buckets? Should I pack my bucket from my previous vacation at WDW?

    What's poppin', Priscilla?!

I’m so happy to welcome you back to planDisney! Your springtime visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth is right around the corner, and it will be here before you know it. I can only imagine how excited you must be as the countdown continues!

It sounds like you’re already getting a head start on planning what to pack, which is such a fun part of the process. Springtime at Walt Disney World can bring a mix of warm, sunny days and cooler mornings or evenings, so it’s always a great idea to pack layers, comfortable walking shoes, and maybe even a light rain jacket just in case of those quick Florida showers.

And of course, no Disney packing list is complete without Minnie ears! I always say you can never have too many, and they’re the perfect way to add a little extra magic (and style!) to every park day.

One thing you can leave at home is your old popcorn buckets. Refillable popcorn buckets purchased at Walt Disney World can only be used for refills during the length of your current visit, so they won’t be eligible for refills on a future trip.

The good news is that this gives you a little extra space in your suitcase and a fun excuse to pick up a new one! Disney is always introducing fresh designs, so there’s almost always something new and exciting to add to your collection.

Right now, one of the most widely available options is the Jerrod Maruyama Kawaii-style bucket, which features adorable illustrations of favorite characters and iconic park elements. You can currently find this design in all four theme parks, along with other unique, park-specific buckets that make for great souvenirs.

The EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival will be in full bloom during your visit, and I hope you’ll have some time to experience it! This is such a beautiful time of year at EPCOT, with vibrant gardens, stunning character topiaries, and seasonal blooms around every corner.

In addition to the gorgeous scenery, you’ll find outdoor kitchens offering fresh, spring-inspired bites, fun scavenger hunts, and live entertainment throughout the park. It’s the perfect way to slow down, soak in the atmosphere, and enjoy a little extra magic during your trip.

Priscilla, I hope this helps as you plan, and I’m wishing you the most magical trip! Thanks so much for poppin’ by planDisney!

    See ya real soon,
