What is the current cancelation policy on on property hotel room reservations ? And what is the cancelation policy on packages?

Hello there, Lidiya, and welcome to planDisney!

Thanks for coming to us with your question! I'm super excited to hear that you have a Disneyland Resort trip coming up and are staying on property, where it'll feel like you never left the Disney magic! I know that life can get in the way of our vacations and it always helps to be prepared, so I would be happy to go over Disney's cancellation policies but I certainly hope you won't have to cancel. All policies are subject to change without notice.

    • Disneyland Resort Hotel Room Only Cancellation Policy: When placing this reservation, a deposit equal to the first night's room rate (plus taxes and fees) will be due. You will have until 4 days prior to arrival in order to cancel with a full refund. If you cancel within 4 days of arrival, you will lose the deposit as a cancellation fee. I recently ran into this when I decided to cancel a trip to the Resort when Southern California was experiencing a severe storm. Thankfully, I was able to simply move my reservation to a later date and not lose my deposit.
    • Disneyland Resort Vacation Package Cancellation Policy: According to the Terms and Conditions, a $200 deposit is due if a Package is booked more than 31 days before arrival. Full payment is due 30 days prior to arrival. If you cancel more than 30 days out, you'll receive a full refund. If a cancellation is made 4 to 29 days out, you'll lose your deposit as a cancellation fee. If you cancel 3 days or less before arrival, the full price of the package is non-refundable.

Now that the boring fine print stuff is out of the way, let's talk about your visit! What Hotel did you pick for your trip? My favorite has always been the classic Disneyland Hotel because I'm a huge fan of the Resort's history ever since Disneyland Park opened in 1955. Late summer is a great time to travel to the Parks and you might even see some Fall decorations begin to go up because the Halloween Season is just around the corner! I love that time of year and it's my favorite season to visit the Disneyland Resort. It just puts me in the mood for apple cider and trick or treating!

Lidiya, I hope that this was helpful information for you. Like I said, I sincerely hope you'll be able to make your trip to the Happiest Place on Earth. If you need anything else, please feel free to write back to us anytime. We're always willing to help.

Wishing You a Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow!

Meet the Panelist: Al, California

Ahoy there from the heart of Steinbeck Country in central California! I've been visiting the Disneyland Resort since childhood and fell in love with the sense of absolute immersion that the Imagineers have achieved. My favorite attraction is Pirates of the Caribbean because where else can you go from a California day to an evening boat ride in the bayou with "salty old pirates"? I'm a veterinarian and an all-around Disney geek and enthusiast. I'd love to help you plan your next Disneyland trip! Learn More About Al
