Hi, Terry! As Walt Disney World's original Disney Vacation Club property,
Disney's Old Key West Resort has been welcoming Guests "Home" since 1991. You're going to love the relaxing vibe at this South Florida themed resort, with its pastel colors and waterside views. The villas here are an excellent option for families needing a little more room to spread out, as these units are some of the largest on Walt Disney World Resort property.
The grounds of this resort are lush and expansive, backing up to Disney's Lake Buena Vista Golf Course. Due to its size, there are five bus stops located throughout the resort. Recently, the order of the bus stops was as follows:
*Peninsular Road
*Old Turtle Pond Road
*South Point Road
*Miller's Road
*Hospitality House
However, understand that bus drivers occasionally change the order of their route, so your experience may differ from what's listed above (sometimes South Point Road is second, and Old Turtle Pond is third). When going to
Disney Springs, the bus service actually starts at the Hospitality House; however, I would recommend taking the
ferry boat down the Sassagoula River, which runs from 10:00 AM- 11:00 PM daily.
While you're there, make time for a meal at
Olivia's Cafe, where they are known for homestyle cooking- especially their Southernmost Buttermilk Chicken and Key Lime Tart. I love the photo wall which showcases many of Old Key West Resort's
Disney Vacation Club owners!
Enjoy being on "island-time" during your vacation, Terry!
