What currency do I need for Jamaica and Grand Cayman?

Hello again, Reba! I’m so glad you sailed back by planDisney with another question.

And thank you for your sweet message... you absolutely made my day. I think it’s truly wonderful that your mother-in-law will be celebrating her 98th birthday on board. What a beautiful milestone to honor at sea! If you’d like to surprise her, Disney Cruise Line offers lovely birthday treats and stateroom décor through Onboard Gifts. It’s such a special way to make her feel celebrated the moment she arrives!

It sounds like you have some fantastic ports ahead. Jamaica’s waterfalls are breathtaking, and Grand Cayman’s Seven Mile Beach is one of the most gorgeous stretches of sand I’ve ever seen. I still remember how blue that water is! The good news is that you won’t need to worry about exchanging currency. U.S. dollars are widely accepted in both Jamaica and Grand Cayman, especially in the areas where cruise Guests visit. Credit cards are commonly accepted too, but it’s handy to bring a few small bills ($1s and $5s) for tips or small purchases.

If you’d like help choosing Port Adventures, or even if you just want ideas for the most relaxing beach day, I’m always happy to give more advice. Sometimes the perfect adventure is simply a comfy lounge chair, a cabana, and a Caribbean breeze.

    Hope this helps, Reba!

    Sea ya real soon,
