I was curious as to how social distancing /Covid protocols were impacting travel between resorts & parks via the Disney Transportation System. Also, as a DVC Member staying at a Disney resort, is parking free at parks if I drive my car

    Welcome Home, Walter!

Your trip is just around the corner, so hopefully, you are getting excited and ready to escape to The Most Magical Place on Earth! Disney is taking the pandemic seriously and following CDC guidance in their decision-making. The safety of Cast Members and Guests is always the highest priority.

Disney has been implementing social distancing on buses and other forms of transportation, though you should be aware that social distancing efforts are gradually being reduced. But you definitely won’t find yourself on a bus after park closing with the center aisle full of parents standing with strollers!

Guests are asked to leave at least 3 feet of social distancing between parties. With social distancing, parties may be seated on the bus by the bus driver, and with reduced bus capacity you may not always get on the first bus that arrives. When we visited in October, this sometimes meant we had to wait for the next bus, so I recommend you leave extra time to get to your destination. Also know that while Guests may remove their masks while in common outdoor areas like the bus stops, once on the bus, boat, or Monorail, masks must be worn. Guests riding the Disney Skyliner are not seated with other parties.

Disney Vacation Club Members staying in a Disney Vacation Club Deluxe Villa either with Vacation Points or with cash receive complimentary overnight parking at their resort. Also, Members using Vacation Points to stay at a non-Disney Vacation Club Villa through the Disney Collection receive included parking. However, if you are staying in a Disney Villa Walter, and are paying cash, standard overnight parking fees would apply. All Guests who are staying at a Disney Resort Collection Hotel get included parking at the theme parks, so your parking there would be covered. If you are concerned about social distancing or travel time to the parks, driving might be a good option.

I hope this helps as you make your plans, Walter. If you have any additional questions before your trip, please send them our way!

    Wishing you Membership Magic!
