Hi Michael, and welcome to planDisney! As a plant and nature lover myself, I’d be happy to answer your question.
So, I’ve also been eagerly awaiting the return of the Cultivating the Magic Tour. Learning about how landscaping and horticulture transport us into the different lands and stories at Disneyland sounds practically perfect in every way! Unfortunately, I confirmed with a Cast Member that there's no news yet on when the tour will return. I'd recommend keeping an eye on
Disney Parks Blog for any announcements and the Disneyland
Special Events & Tours page for any new offerings. In the meantime, I wanted to share this page of
Disneyland Resort horticultural fun facts to hold you over until the tour is back. I didn’t realize that you can find 25 topiary animals and characters at Disneyland Resort, and I’ll definitely be going on a little photo scavenger hunt during my next visit!
In case you have any travel planned to Florida or Hawaii, there are two other horticulture tours that currently run year-round. Over in Disney World, there’s a
Behind the Seeds tour that happens in
EPCOT’s Land Pavilion. I’ve done this tour twice, and it’s a really cool, in-depth look at the fish farm and greenhouses that you see on the
Living with the Land attraction.
If you’re making the trek over there, you might also want to time it with the
EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival. It’s such a beautiful time to visit because the whole park is covered in colorful flowers and plants. There are also incredible Disney character topiaries to discover as you visit the different festival food booths.
And finally, at
Aulani Resort in Hawaii, there’s a complimentary Maka’ika’i The Culture through Nature Tour that talks about how Disney Imagineers thoughtfully designed the landscaping to tell Aulani’s story. This tour runs a few times a week at the Aulani Resort.
I hope this helps and maybe even inspires some other future Disney trips! And if you have any other questions, you’re always welcome back at planDisney.
