I have Crystal Palace reservations at 8:20 and want to get that coveted "empty" Main Street picture with my kids. Is 8:20 early enough or should I keep checking for something earlier? How far in advance of your reservation are you allowed into

    Hi Kari,

My "Empty Main Street" photos of my family are some of my favorite photos in my Disney collection. I try to book at least one early Crystal Palace or Royal Table breakfast during each trip, specifically so we can get some empty Main Street pictures.

The best photos of this genre that I've gotten are when we've had 8:05 a.m reservations (usually the first slot available at the Magic Kingdom). Even 15 minutes later you have more guests making their way to the castle for breakfast or BBB appointments, and there are more cast members on Main Street getting ready for the big influx of guests.

If you can get the 8:05 reservation, that's really best, but if you can't I wouldn't worry about it too much. Show up at the gate by about 7:50 and be honest with the gate attendant. Tell her that you do have a reservation, but really would like to have just a few minutes to take some photos on Main Street before breakfast. My guess is that 90% of the cast members will be nice and let you in.

Good luck. I hope you get some wonderful shots!
