We are cruising the Wonder in April of 2014. Our port is Miami but we fly in and out of Fort Lauderdale airport. What is the earliest recommended time for our return flight home? About what time will we be off the ship with main seating?

Welcome aboard, Lori! You are in for a real treat, sailing aboard the Disney Wonder next year! I bet you are already getting excited!

Disney Cruise Line recommends that return flights departing out of the Miami airport be scheduled no earlier than 11:30 on the morning your ship returns to the port. However, since Fort Lauderdale is quite a distance from the Miami port, you will want to add another hour or hour and a half or so to that estimate. Perhaps there is a flight about 1:00 or later that would work for you from Fort Lauderdale.

If you are arranging private transportation or plan on getting a taxi, and think you might be tight on time getting to the airport, you might want to consider using Disney Cruise Line's express checkout. This would mean that you would carry your own bags off the ship (instead of leaving them out the night before and then collecting them again in the port terminal in the morning). These express checkout guests will be some of the first to disembark that morning. While I can't tell you exactly what time you will be able to disembark, as many factors on that morning will determine that, most likely the express checkout guests will begin disembarking around 7:30 or 8:00 a.m., followed by the general disembarkation.

As guests with the main dining time for dinner, your assigned breakfast that morning will most likely be around 7:00 a.m. You might alternatively consider just heading up to the buffet for breakfast if you will be hoping to get off the ship right away.

I hope that helps as you plan your flights home, Lori. Since you have quite a bit of time until you set sail, don't hesitate to stop back here with any other questions you might have. I'm happy to help!
