We will be cruising in June right after our elder granddaughter turns 11. Her sister is 8. Will they need to be in separate groups even though she’s barely 11?

    Hi Carol,

Welcome to planDisney! I hope your granddaughters have already named you Grandmother of the Year! A Disney Cruise Line vacation is a wonderful way to spend time with your family; you will make so many memories.

Disney’s Oceaneer Lab and Disney’s Oceaneer Club (for kids ages 3-10) and Edge for tweens (ages 11-14) make me wish I was a kid again. Your granddaughters will love it! Currently, the age ranges are strictly enforced. While your granddaughters aren't able to participate in the same club, they will have lots of opportunities to be together on the ship. During Open House hours, your daughters can both enjoy the same youth club, and you can join in, too! There are family-friendly planned events and areas such as the pool or sports court where the girls can spend time together.

To discover which activities you all might enjoy, be sure to download the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. Once on board, open the app and check out the activities listings for each age group. And don't forget to check out the adult-exclusive activities so you can enjoy some "me time" while the girls are having a blast in the areas created just for kids!

You and your granddaughters are so lucky to take this adventure together. Please let us know if you have other questions as you count down the days!

    Wishing you many magical memories,
