Cruising in June 2014 on the dream... I read there is a pirate night. It is common for kids to dress up like pirates on that night or would that be overkill? Do more kids not dress up? Would pirate shirts be appropriate for adults? Thanks for your help

Welcome back, April! Pirate Night is a very popular night onboard all four of Disney's ships. Your servers in the main dining restaurants will be decked out in their buccaneer best, serving a pirate-themed menu at dinner that night. Many guests bring their own pirate costumes and gear from home to wear that night for dinner and for the Pirates IN the Caribbean Deck Party. In addition, the gift shops onboard sell quite a bit of pirate attire and accessories as well. You will see tons of kids dressed up like pirates. Even the adults get in on the pirate fun. My husband and I purchased pirate costumes before we sailed with Disney the first time and love bringing them to wear each time we cruise. You will see many adults dressed up.

Each guest will receive a Mickey's Pirates IN the Caribbean Deck Party bandana to wear that evening, so the majority of guests will be sporting at least that, but I promise there will be pirate costumes galore that night. Your kids would have a blast wearing costumes and if you're up for it, go for it too! A pirate shirt would be great for you and your husband, but if you want to really get in the spirit, you certainly will not be out of place with a few accessories too!

That night is a great one for photos with the characters who will also be dressed in their pirate costumes!

    Keep your questions coming, April!
