I am cruising the first of February on the dream. We booked our own Atlantis tour. Is it safe to take a taxi to Atlantis from the port? Thank you for your help! Marcie

From one Marcy to another Marcie, welcome aboard! It's only one month until you set sail on the Disney Dream for what is sure to be a magical adventure!

I'm excited to hear that you'll be heading over to the Atlantis Resort while you're in Nassau. My family and I especially love exploring The Dig site with it's underground aquariums. I would highly suggest booking the Discover Atlantis adventure through Disney Port Adventures if at all possible. When you book through Disney, you have the assurance that there are multiple return times, the ship knows where you are as you travel to and from with other Disney Cruise Line guests, and you're in the best of hands! However, it's possible to make a day on your own at Atlantis too. Besides the taxis which run all the time and will certainly save you money and get you to Atlantis safely, you can also take a water taxi to Paradise Island to visit Atlantis. It's actually a little bit less expensive than a personal land taxi, and while you'll probably have to wait longer to board, it makes for a mini adventure in itself for the family. I'd suggest the water taxi over a land taxi for sure!

As you walk down the pier from the Dream, (it's a bit of a walk, so be ready), head through the terminal and out along the street with shops, and go right. There is a kiosk down a bit that sells the water taxi tickets to Atlantis. You'll want to have cash (four or five dollars per person), as I believe the last time I was there it was cash only. Not only is it a more cool and comfortable ride than a street taxi, but the tour guide usually gives a little info about what you're passing as you sail to Atlantis, so think of it as a mini tour, and be sure to have a few dollars to tip him or her.
I hope that helps as you plan your adventures in Nassau, Marcie!
