Hi! We are cruising on the Disney Fantasy (Port Canaveral), March 23rd. My 5 year old daughter was recently diagnosed with celiac disease. The ship states they can accommodate her, but I'd like to know exactly what dishes she can eat.

Welcome aboard, Christine! Your Disney Fantasy sailing is coming up so soon!

Disney Cruise Line is so wonderful at helping families with food allergies and medical conditions to enjoy just as magical a cruise as every other guest. I'm really happy you asked about dining for your daughter. Friends of ours are also adjusting to their "new normal" when their son was recently diagnosed with celiac disease as well. I know that can be a stress on everyone and you want to be sure you're as well planned as possible for this cruise.

Be sure to call the agents at Disney Cruise Line to have them add your daughter's dietary needs to your reservation. This information is given to your dining team before you even set foot on the ship. Did you know that with Disney Cruise Line's Rotational Dining, you'll be assigned a team of servers who will be with your family each night, and rotate through the three main dining restaurants with you? No need to re-explain her food needs each night. It's super convenient and my kids love that we really get to know our dining servers, as they play games with the kids, tell jokes and do magic tricks.

I also recommend that you call the Special Services team at 407-566-3602 as soon as possible since your daughter has such a severe dietary need. They can give you more specifics about dishes. Disney does recommend that those with food allergies and dietary needs such as this try to eat all of their meals in the table service restaurants, as opposed to the quick service spots on the pool deck or Cabanas buffet, since the table service spots are more adequately prepared to handle these types of requests.

I hope those details help as you get ready to set sail, Christine!
