We are cruising on the Disney Dream in a couple of weeks! We have been on many cruises, but this is our 1st Disney Cruise! SUPER EXCITED! We have magic bands from our last Disney visit (11/2013) Do we bring them with us on the ship for any reason? :D

Lindsay, welcome aboard! I can tell that you are really excited to set sail with Captain Mickey and his crew! And you should be! There is so much in store for your family, both onboard and in the beautiful ports of call that you'll visit! I know that you'll be stopping at Disney's private island, Castaway Cay, which is one of my favorite beaches in the entire world! There is so much included in the cost of your cruise on that island, you'll be busy all day with all the fun they have planned. But, if you'd prefer to relax instead, there are plenty of places to do just that while you stare out at the gorgeous waters in the Bahamas!

The new MagicBands at the Walt Disney World Resort are fabulous, don't you think? My family has been very impressed with those during our visits this past year at Walt Disney World. You will not need those on the Disney Dream, however, so that will save you some space as you pack. Your children will receive their own Oceaneer Band if they're registered for the Oceaneer Club and Lab, and you'll get those at the port or onboard. These bands will be scanned as the kids come and go from the clubs.

Disney Cruise Line uses the Key To The World Cards as your stateroom card, "ticket" to get on and off the ship, charge card onboard and photography link for your onboard photos.

Who knows, maybe one day Disney Cruise Line will begin using MagicBands just like the Walt Disney World Resort, but for now, you'll enjoy all the great benefits of the cashless ship just by using your Key To The World Card onboard. Have fun as you count down these last days until you set sail! Enjoy your cruise!
