We are cruising with our children for the first time on the Disney Magic in April. They are 3 and 5 years old. Our ports are key west, Nassau and castaway cay. Do they need passports or will birth certificates suffice?

    Hi Amy!

Congratulations on your first voyage on the spectacular Disney Magic!  April is just around the corner,  and you will be setting sail very soon!  You are going to have an amazing time enjoying all the fantastic amenities and activities the cruise staff has planned for your crew!

Both passports and birth certificates will work for your closed loop cruise.  A closed loop cruise means you leave from a U.S. port and return to the same port.  With that being said, Disney Cruise Line does recommend all Guests travel with passports.  Since air travel out of the U.S. does require a valid passport, having one on your cruise prepares you for an unforeseen circumstance that might occur while you are visiting the Bahamas.  Birth certificates will hinder you from being able to fly off the island if you need to get home quickly.  The Passport Information is on DisneyCruise.com and you still have time to get them before your departure.

I hope you are ready to make some magical memories on the high seas with Captain Mickey and his crew.  Please let me know if you have further questions before the big day!

    Happy Sailing!
