Hi Kristin,
Welcome aboard planDisney! How exciting to be planning a Disney Cruise Line vacation.
Travel documentation is certainly an important part of your planning, so let’s get you ready.
For round-trip cruises to the
Bahamas and
Caribbean, you can use the original or a copy of your state-issued birth certificate AND a government-issued photo ID. Your cruise reservation should be made under the name of your photo ID, not your birth certificate. And yes, it is acceptable that your birth certificate and photo ID last names do not match.
Kristin, when you disembark at any port, including
Castaway Cay, please remember to take your documentation and your
Key to the World Card as you will need both to disembark and to embark at the end of the day.
You are going to have an amazing day at Castaway Cay. Each time I visit this little slice of paradise I appreciate it even more. On my recent visit, my friends and I enjoyed Pelican Plunge and I highly recommend it. It’s an easy swim over and the water slides are so much fun, even for adults!
I hope this information helps you rest easy so you can focus on other planning, like deciding what to wear for
Pirate Night. Let us know if you have other questions; we are here to help!
Wishing you many magical memories,
Shannon
