On some cruise ships you are allow to carry off you own luggage on disembarkation, does Disney allow this or do we have to let the porters take them. We are driving from the port in our own vehicle.

Welcome aboard, Tracy! It sounds like you have a magical sailing with Disney Cruise Line in the near future! How exciting! How fortunate that you live close enough to drive to the port. It's very easy and convenient to park at the port terminal. I experienced doing that for the first time a few months ago, and found that the parking for the Disney terminal at Port Canaveral is close and super easy to navigate.

Disney Cruise Line allows guests to carry off all of their own luggage if they prefer. Of course, they also offer for guests to leave some or all of their luggage outside their stateroom for pick up the night before, which makes the final morning much easier, only having to carry your carry-on bags off the ship.

The ship is normally cleared for disembarkation by around 7:30 a.m. that final morning, and it is then that guests utilizing express check-out are allowed to disembark first. These are the guests that carry off all of their luggage on their own. You might be one of the first off the ship if you'd like to do this. Even if you're a bit later, it's okay, you can carry your bags right off then too.

Should you choose to leave your larger bags out the night before, you'll meet up with them again once you disembark and they'll be waiting in the baggage pick up area inside the terminal, according to characters on the tags you'll be given. Just pick them up, head through customs and off to your car. There are porters near baggage pick up if you're interested, but of course, you certainly do not need to utilize their services if you don't need to!

Tracy, have fun as you finalize your cruise plans! Stop back again if you have further questions before you set sail with Captain Mickey and his crew! I'm happy to help!
