Ahoy, Carine!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! You'll be setting sail on your
Bahamian voyage before you know it, and Captain Mickey can't wait to "sea" you and your crew.
You do get to experience a lot of splashtacular fun on the
Atlantis Aquaventure in Nassau since it does include the water park, pools, beaches, underground aquarium and lunch. It has been a few years since I've ventured over to Atlantis, but I do have a few things for you to consider as you decide what to do ashore. When I select my excursions, I always consider the length as a huge decision maker for my family. My kids have never liked to be off the ship for more than two to three hours. After that time frame, they are cranky and ready to rejoin the fun in the youth spaces. Also, I always make sure to read over the "Know Before You Go" section that is included in each Port Adventure description. It took my son forever to reach 48 inches and that is the minimum height requirement for the waterslides at the water park. As a thrill seeker from a young age, he was not ok with watching us swish down slide after slide when he was not tall enough. This may not be a factor with your crew, but be sure to read over this section so there are no surprises when you arrive. There is a water playground area designed for those not quite tall enough that includes smaller slides that may work out just fine for the smaller sailors in your group.
Port Adventure selections can be tricky for larger groups, so I suggest getting the opinions of those traveling with you before the decision is made. The ship is a destination in itself so some may decide they want to stay aboard if that option is given to them. Even though the ship will be in port, there will be so much to experience.
