Welcome aboard, Tracy! What a great question! With a teen daughter, myself, I can tell you that any Disney Cruise Line vacation is one that she'd happily jump aboard!
We've been sailing with Disney Cruise Line since my kids were very young, and they've enjoyed every moment of their adventures, especially their time in the
Youth Clubs. When they're at the age where they're almost old enough for the next Youth Club (Edge for tweens, and then Vibe for teens), they get especially excited for the next sailing when they can experience that new space and meet even more new friends.
While I don't think there is a specific
itinerary or
ship that is the most popular with teenagers, I would say that you'll find the most teenagers cruising during school breaks and the summer. As you know, the older they get, the harder it is for them to miss school for any longer length of time. So, families with teens tend to be in more abundance onboard the ships when school is out. If you're looking to cruise when your teens will have the best opportunity to meet new friends in
Vibe, the club for ages 14-17, summer and school breaks are the time!
Those ages 18 and up won't be able to participate in the Youth Clubs, but there is the 1820 Society for 18-20 year-olds. They get together throughout the cruise for different activities around the ship. This is most populated during the summer too.
I hope that answers your question as you begin to plan this family adventure, Tracy! Please stop back as you continue planning if we can help with anything else!
