Is the cruise line using the Magic Band on the ships? Should I take mine?

Hiya, Shari! Welcome, and thank you for cruising by with your question.

Disney Cruise Line has many marvelous technological advancements onboard the ships, but you won't need to bring your MagicBand with you. When you arrive at your stateroom on your cruise ship, you'll find a small envelope that contains your Key to the World cards, which will be everything you need. You can access your stateroom, use it to purchase specialty cocktails in the nightclubs and lounges, pay for adult-exclusive dining opportunities, and even use them to buy those souvenirs you're saving room in your suitcase for (but if you haven't, don't worry, you can buy an extra bag onboard!).

The card will link back to your onboard account, and your credit card on file will be charged for your purchases. It's so much easier than carrying a handbag or a wallet with you.

If this is your first cruise, Shari, I recommend picking up a lanyard to keep your Key to the World card safe with you so you can be hands-free for all of your activities. If you are coming back to Disney Cruise Line after already sailing with them, as a member of the Castaway Club, you'll be given a lanyard along with your Key to the World card.

I hope you are now in shipshape and ready to sail! If you need us for anything between now and your June cruise, just sail on back to see us.
