Welcome aboard planDisney, Joseph!
I am delighted to hear that you are planning to sail the high seas with your family! One of the many reasons my own family enjoys cruising with Captain Mickey are the friends we make while onboard. Many of whom we still speak to today, years after our vacations!
After chatting to several Cast Members, I have found that Disney Cruise Line does not currently offer formal LGBTQ cruises or events onboard. I was grateful to be able to call in the help of some of the friends my family has met onboard to understand their experience on the high seas to provide you some insight on potential LGBTQ meet ups during your vacation.
A LGBTQ couple that we sailed with last summer mentioned to me that each time they have sailed with Captain Mickey that they were able to find fellow LGBTQ Guests and families through the unofficial cruise groups set up on Facebook and DISboards.com. If you search for your sail date and Disney Cruise Line ship on either of these forums, you can connect with fellow Guests that are sailing on your same cruise and get to know them before your vacation. Many times, my kids have connected with others before our sailing and then met up with them in the
youth clubs!
I genuinely believe that
your family will have a blast no matter which itinerary you choose! If you are like us, part of what makes the experience of cruising so much fun is meeting new people and enjoying your time onboard with them. Be sure to use your
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App to find all of the activities, games and shows in the
D Lounge for the best opportunity to connect with other families!
You've got a friend in me, Joseph! I hope that if you have any additional questions as you plan your high seas adventure that you cruise back to planDisney!
"Sea" ya real soon! Angie
