Hi again, Robert! Welcome back!
Disney Cruise Line hasn't yet released their
itineraries for 2021, but that doesn't mean you can't book your next cruise adventure while onboard the ship this summer.
Each time my family sails with Disney, we book our next cruise onboard the current sailing. Why? Well, they offer some pretty amazing incentives like a reduced deposit, a 10% discount on the future cruise, and a generous onboard credit for the next cruise. Since we know we'll be sailing again, it'd be silly not to book while we're onboard!
Sometimes though, we don't know exactly which itinerary we'll want for our next sailing. In that case, Disney allows us to book a placeholder cruise. We put down a $250 deposit (though the deposit price is subject to change), and then we ensure that as long as we sail in the next 24 months from the day we book, we'll be entitled to those onboard incentives. So, go ahead and do that on your cruise this summer, Robert, and then watch for the 2021 cruises to be released. At that point, you can call Disney to turn your placeholder into an specific reservation.
Normally, I'd suggest that you book early on in your sailing so you don't have to wait at the
Onboard Sales Desk on the last couple of days when it gets busy with more guests re-booking, but since you want to sail exactly two years from then, you'll want to book it later in your sailing to ensure you can sail within those exact 24 months, beginning with the day you book the placeholder.
I hope that helps as you get ready to head out to sea!
Happy cruising!
Marcy
