Ahoy there Susan and welcome aboard planDisney. After an 11-Night Mediterranean Sea voyage last summer on the Disney Dream I can only imagine what surprises and delights await you on the 12-Night Norwegian Fjords and Iceland Cruise from Southampton itinerary. One thing I know for sure: the Aurora Borealis is supposed to be spectacular this summer.
After speaking directly with a Disney Cruise Line vacation agent who went into a deep dive to understand the differences between "learn that" and "discover," there was no definitive answer. As we read the descriptions, both appear to visit the rift as
The Golden Circle - Adult Only Departure (RY13) has a 60-minute stop at Thingvellir and a 45-minute stop during
The Golden Circle With Family Barbecue (RY12) but there is no guarantee. However, I think the RY13 option gives you the best chance to visit the rift because of the 15 minutes of additional time in the area. I recommend you contact a cruise vacation agent who will be able to give you additional information. Since you have your booking information the agent will be able to research for you. You may
call or Live Chat with them on the Disney Cruise Line website under Help->
Help Center.
As a suggestion, you could book RY13 (or RY12) now and when you embark on the Disney Dream on Day 1, head to the
Port Adventures Desk and get more details about both excursions. At least you will have one reserved.
Susan, I hope this information gets you the information you need to see one of the most unique natural sites in the world. Please feel free to
write me back directly with any follow-up questions or for other Disney vacation planning tips.
Enjoy making many Magical Memories on the High Seas.
