I will be going on a cruise in January 2014 with my husband, 2 boys and my mom and dad. My mom has cancer and gets tired easily. Will the ship provide a wheelchair for her to use at the ports?

Welcome aboard, Jena! I'm happy to hear that your whole family will be setting sail with Disney Cruise Line this winter. You are in for so much fun, laughter and new memories on this vacation.

Disney Cruise Line does have a few wheelchairs onboard, however these are limited and reserved mostly for emergencies only. Disney suggests that guests who know they will require a wheelchair bring their own. Alternately, they have a listing of a few rental companies that could deliver a wheelchair to the port for your use, and pick it up again after sailing. If you think your mother might be interested in renting a wheelchair for the cruise and for any time spent out in the ports, give Disney Cruise Line a call at 1-800-951-3532. They would be happy to provide you with the contact information for those outside vendors so that you can arrange this.

I hope that helps as you continue to plan, Jena. I'm happy to help with other questions, so please feel free to stop back!
