Welcome aboard, Jennifer, and congratulations to your husband on his new job! And also a big hooray for your Disney Cruise Line vacation! Don't let a new job dampen your excitement to set sail with Captain Mickey and his crew. Since you're cruise reservation is not until March of next year, you've still got time to change it.
We booked a sailing a year and a half in advance and later were happy to find out that our nephew was getting married. However, he scheduled his wedding on a weekend that we were supposed to be at sea. How dare he! Ha! No problem, though. I just chose a different itinerary, called up my travel agent (or you can call the agents at Disney Cruise Line at 800-951-3532) and we were easily able to transfer to a different itinerary. Since prices vary by itinerary and sail date, your deposit may be slightly different for the new cruise you choose. In that case, you can simply pay the remaining deposit, since your current deposit will carry over, or if you've paid more than the new deposit already, you'll just be ahead of the game when it comes to paying off the cruise.
I'd suggest you change your reservation as soon as possible though. Check out the
cancellation policy for more details, but for your
Dream sailing, as long as you cancel before 75 days prior to sailing, you will not lose your deposit or any funds already paid toward the cruise.
So, play around with the different sail dates and itineraries on the
Find A Cruise page of Disney Cruise Line's website to find a new date that will work for you! Have fun planning, Jennifer, and please stop back with any other questions about your magical adventure! We're happy to help!
