For our cruise. I booked Disney transportation from Disney POR to DCL Port Canaveral. Can I cancel the transportation and make other arrangements? Thinking other arrangements maybe faster mode of transportation.

    Ahoy, Vera!

When our family embarks on a Disney Cruise Line vacation, we always arrange to rent a car and drive to Port Canaveral. This is not only a more flexible way to get to the port, since it allows us to make any necessary stops before we board our Disney Cruise Line ship, but is often a more economical way as well. This is also the fastest way to get to Port Canaveral the morning of your cruise.

Disney Cruise Line transportation is convenient, but then you are at the mercy of the bus and the other passengers that are getting picked up at the different Walt Disney World resort hotels. I have heard stories of passengers not arriving to Port Canaveral until 1pm or later on the day that they cruise. This would stress me out, as I like to be one of the first families into the cruise terminal and onto the ship!

I called my friends at Disney Cruise Line to be sure that it is not a problem for you to cancel your ground transfers. I was told that you are able to cancel these up to three days prior to sailing by calling Disney Cruise Line at 800-951-3532.

For our cruise over the summer, we booked a rental car through Alamo at the Dolphin, and it worked swimmingly!

Have a wonderful Disney land and sea vacation!

    Happy Cruising, Tracy V.
