Welcome aboard, Jo Ann! Your cruise is only a little over a month away, so I bet your whole family is counting down the days until you set sail with Captain Mickey and his crew on the
Disney Dream!
My family has participated in the Fish Extender exchanges a few times on our sailings, and the kids really got a kick out of receiving little surprises in their Fish Extender pockets each day from fellow cruisers. The Fish Extender Exchange is not a Disney-sponsored activity, but is one that guests set up among themselves by meeting on various online forums prior to setting sail.
One of the most popular Fish Extender exchange groups is on the Disboards. You may do an online search for Disney Cruise Line Fish Extender Groups to find a board that you'd like to join. On there, you'd then select your particular sail date, ship, and itinerary to find the thread where guests on your exact cruise are planning gift exchanges.
When we've participated, it's been a fun way to meet other Disney fans on our same sailing. Gifts we have received or given have included specialty trinkets or snacks from our hometowns, small games and toys to use onboard the ship, cruise-themed picture frames or photo mats to have signed by our favorite Disney characters, personalized acrylic cups to use onboard, Christmas ornaments commemorating our sailing and more.
Have fun prepping your gifts and planning for your
Disney Cruise Line Adventure, Jo Ann!
