Ahoy, Shawn!
Last year around this same time I was researching
Alaskan Port Adventures, and I remember feeling a bit overwhelmed with all the choices offered by Disney Cruise Line. Currently, there are 147 choices so I have a few tips on how to narrow the list down for your upcoming cruise. First, if you can afford an excursion at each port, I recommend you take one because each stop is unique. Next, there are many ways to see the Last Frontier-by air, water and land. At one of the stops, pick an adventure that takes you up, up and away by seaplane, helicopter or floatplane. The views from above are spectacular! Alaska is all about the outdoors, so you will want to consider embarking a vessel to go kayaking on the pristine waters,
whale watching or even rafting. You may also consider a bike ride, a train ride on the White Pass, or even a
dog sled ride on a glacier! Our 49th state is known for its amazing wildlife so you will want to see some in their natural habitat. Bald eagles, bears, seals, whales, bison and moose are a few that you may spot from the Disney Wonder or during your time ashore.
The Disney Cruise Line Port Adventure Team offers some unforgettable experiences in Skagway, Juneau and Ketchikan. I know the decisions you make will be difficult, but I don't think you can go wrong with any of the choices. Since it is just you and your wife have a look at the list separately and choose your top three for each stop while considering the tips I suggested above. If you have trouble narrowing the list down, please write back, and I will be glad to assist you again. I completely understand how tough it can be!
Good luck!
Nancy
