What are crowd levels like in mid-February at Disney World? I have researched it and the numbers vary drastically from very low to extremely high, so it has left me confused. Also, with weather being between 50-70, are the water rides still bearable?

    Hello, Michelle!

Let's take a look at a few things happening in February 2016 at Walt Disney World so we can get a better idea of what you can expect on your upcoming vacation.

There are a couple of holidays in February that can cause an uptick in crowd levels: Valentine's Day and President's Day. It looks like President's Day will fall on February 15, 2016 and because this is on a Monday, some schools may be closed to observe the holiday. This could potentially bring in more guests for an extended weekend vacation at the Walt Disney World Resort.

Additionally, there are always higher crowd levels on race weekends, and it looks like the Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend will be held from February 18-21, 2016.

You should be just fine to experience the 'water' rides at the theme parks, like Splash Mountain and Kali River Rapids, so long as you bring along a poncho or a change of clothes -- though you'd probably want to bring along those items at any other time of year, too.

I have visited Walt Disney World with very small crowds, large crowds, and everywhere in between. Because of this, I can assure you that you can have a magical experience at any time of year. It helps to have an idea of what to expect ahead of time, as well as a good touring strategy. If you have any other questions before your trip, please do not hesitate to stop back by the Moms Panel. Happy planning, Michelle!
