Does the credit card used to reserve a Disney Resort hotel room need to be in the name of the person who reserved it? And If you are using online checkin do you need to visit the front desk? Thank Yiu!

Hi there, Joseph! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thank you for reaching out and allowing us to help you plan your Walt Disney World Resort vacation!

I don’t know about you but I am a massive fan of all the Disney Resort hotels! I seriously could spend an entire vacation simply experiencing all the amenities and activities my Disney Resort hotel has to offer. In addition, Disney Resort hotels offer world-class customer service to all Guests throughout the duration of their stay. If it’s within their power, Cast Members will truly go above and beyond to make your trip as magical as possible!

Keeping with this trend of excellent customer service, I have found the check-in process at Disney Resort hotels to be among the most pain-free out of any place I’ve ever stayed!

In my own experience, I have had no problems at all utilizing a credit card with a different name on it than the name on my room reservation. This initial process tends to be either online or over the phone and is quite easy! Once you get to check-in at your Disney Resort hotel, you may have to show a government-issued ID in order to use your credit card in person.

However, it is completely possible to skip the front desk at your Disney Resort hotel! All Disney Resort hotels offer Online Check-In that can be filled out prior to your actual arrival. As long as you have your MagicBands or the Unlock Feature on your phone, you can completely bypass the front desk and go straight to your room!

Hopefully this information helps make your arrival as smooth as possible!
