Hi there, Rachel! Thanks for sailing by planDisney with your question. It sounds like you have a wonderful voyage ahead on the
Disney Wonder. I adore the classic ships, because they have such a charming, intimate feel, making them easy to navigate. I think you’re going to love it!
Decorating your stateroom door is such a fun Disney Cruise Line tradition. Not only does it add a bit of magic to your hallway, but it’s also a practical way to find your room, especially when all the doors look the same. I’ll admit, I’ve used my own decorations more than once to make sure I didn’t walk past my stateroom!
For an inside stateroom on the Disney Wonder, the door itself is approximately 23 inches wide by 77 inches tall. The frame can make the overall measurement closer to 28–29 inches wide. The room number is displayed on a round plaque (one of the features of the older ships), and many guests like to design their magnets to complement that circle, such as Mickey ears, life preservers, or other fun shapes. I’ve also seen people add banners or battery-powered string lights to their door for extra sparkle.
I hope this helps you with your design plans, Rachel! And when you’re aboard, be sure to stop by
Tiana’s Place for her famous Buttermilk Beignets...you’ll thank me later.
Sea ya real soon,
Eean
