When do we create our fingerprints that sometimes get scanned at the parks? Our first park day is HS and heard that folks have tech difficulties with Star Wars Galaxy boarding groups if fingerprints aren’t scanned properly. Want to make sure in advance!

Howdy Megan! Your trip is coming up quickly!  Are you bouncing around your house like Tigger with excitement?  I know I always do when I have a trip just around the corner.  I hope you and your crew have a magical adventure at Walt Disney World.

When you enter a Theme Park for the first time on your trip you will go through a process called 'ticket tagging'.  Ticket Tagging is basically scanning a fingerprint image on a reader.  Once the reader scans your image it uses the technology of biometrics and converts your image into a unique numerical value and immediately discards the image.  This new numerical value will come up each time you use the same ticket to re-enter or visit a new theme park.  When you visit your first park, which in your case is Disney's Hollywood Studios you will scan your entry ticket and than place your finger on a reader where it will be scanned.   This will "ticket tag" your image and you will be all set.  Once you are in the park you will be able to attempt to join a boarding group for the out of this world Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance attraction using your My Disney Experience mobile app.

I hope this has helped.   Please stop in again anytime you have another question about traveling to the Most Magical Place on Earth.  We are always ready to lend a helping hand.
