Greetings and welcome to planDisney, Anne. I love a dual-purpose trip! Business on the front end and fun (or magic in this case) on the back end - you know, kinda like a mullet.
Being that close to the Disneyland Resort, I would not be able to resist spending some time in the magic. Even if you don't decide to venture into the parks, there's so much to do at
Downtown Disney District and around the
Disneyland Resort hotels to get a touch of the magic.
Downtown Disney District is a vibe in and of itself, and no park ticket needed to wander around the area. From dining to shopping to entertainment, there are plenty of things to keep you busy and fill your time. When it comes to restaurants, there are so many great options to choose from. During any Disneyland visit, I always have at least one meal at
Seoul Sister in Parkside Market. The rice bowls are my go-to and so fresh and practically guilt-free.
There are also a couple of new shiny pennies that I can't wait to check out during my next visit. The Earl of Sandwich recently opened its new location and right next to it (or in the same builder, rather) is Gordon Ramsay at The Carnaby, which just opened this week. I can't wait to try both of these eateries during my next visit. I've been checking out some of the menus and my mouth is already watering.
When it comes to shopping, I always love spending time in World of Disney to bring a little magic home with me. And I almost always find something irresistibly adorable at Disney Storyland Boutique. If you happen to be a pin trader, you'll even find pin boards to trade with in several of the shops located in Downtown Disney.
You also might catch some entertainment at the
Downtown Disney LIVE! Stage. I've spent many evenings just relaxing in this area and enjoying the live music. Check the
Entertainment Schedule for showtimes during your visit.
If you're feeling so inclined, you may consider visiting one of the parks one day after work. This would be such a great way to unwind and escape. It looks like both of your visit days are included on the list of
Lowest-Price 1-Day, 1-Park tickets in July 2026. How serendipitous, and perhaps...a sign? Based on the
Hours & Events Calendar, it looks like Disneyland closes at midnight on both days you'll be in town. That's 7 whole hours to squeeze in as much magic as you can. Since you'll be solo, you can also take advantage of the
Single Rider line available at select attractions.
No matter what you decide, there are so many ways that you can add a little magic to your trip. And the best part about being solo is that you get to do what you want to do, when you want to do it. I love traveling solo and discovering things that I often would not have if I were traveling with a group.
