Is the covid vaccine a must?

Hello, Erick! Thanks for visiting planDisney with another question.

Disney has put amazing health and safety measures in place to keep Guests and Cast Members safe during this time. My family visited Walt Disney World Resort last summer and felt very safe. While Disney does encourage people to get vaccinated, a COVID-19 vaccine is not required to enter the parks or resorts. There is, however, a Health Acknowledgment online for all Guests to review that should be adhered to.

"By entering Walt Disney World Resort, you are confirming that you and all persons in your party:

    • are not experiencing any of the following symptoms of COVID-19 identified by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention at CDC.gov, including: fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea
    • have not been in contact with someone with confirmed or suspected COVID-19 symptoms without completing a 14-day quarantine
    • are not under any self-quarantine orders
Guests who cannot confirm all of the above criteria must not enter Walt Disney World Resort. If at any point during their visit a Guest does not meet all of the above criteria, they and their traveling party will be required to isolate and may be relocated or asked to leave the property."

Walt Disney World Resort recently updated their policy for face coverings. "While face coverings are required for all Guests while in Disney buses, monorail and Disney Skyliner, they are now optional in most areas for Guests who are fully vaccinated. While we do not require proof of vaccination, we expect Guests who are not fully vaccinated to continue wearing face coverings in all indoor locations and upon entering and throughout all attractions and transportation."

Currently, all Guests ages 3 and older must have a theme park reservation, along with valid park admission for the same park on the same date. As you prepare to visit Walt Disney World, I would recommend carefully looking over the updated experience details found on the Returning to a World of Magic page.

Erick, please let us know if we can assist you with any other questions as you plan your visit to Walt Disney World Resort.

    Have a magical day!
