    Cousin is a vegetarian, as am I (also don't eat eggs), my sister is a vegan. Can probably figure out QS meals on our own, but do we need to call ahead for our ADR at Akershus (breakfast)?If we call ahead do we have to pay extra for the food they may order?

    Hi Jordan! I've dined at Walt Disney World as a vegetarian for many years, and I'm happy to tell you that you're going to have lots of options when you visit Disney restaurants. Vegetarians and vegans generally do not need to notify Disney in advance of their special dietary requests, but you can note them on your dining reservation if you want. When you arrive at the restaurant, just tell the server that members of your party are vegan and vegetarian, and if there are not items on the menu that meet your dietary needs, the chef will speak to you about preparing a meal that accommodates your dietary requirements. There is no extra charge for the specially-prepared meals. 

    The restaurants at Walt Disney World generally all have vegetarian, and often vegan, options on the menus. If, however, those options don't appeal to you or include items you don't eat, you can ask to speak to the chef to learn what other options may be available.  The buffet at Akershus, which accompanies meals there, has vegetarian and vegan options, but the main breakfast that's brought to your table consists of eggs and meats, which obviously wouldn't fit your diets.  For this reason, I recommend that you note on your reservation in the "Special Dietary Requests" section online (or by calling 407-WDW-DINE) that members or your party have issues with eggs, milk, fish and other foods so that the chefs at Akershus will be prepared for your visit.
