Hi Sarah,
A first visit for your children - how special!
A character breakfast is great way to wrap up a trip. I often plan this with my children as a fun farewell to our vacation. There are several good choices for families with elementary age boys and girls. Perhaps the most popular choice would be Chef Mickey's, located in the Contemporary resort. At this meal, classic Disney characters come around to every table at the restaurant. Another great place to try is the Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club resort, also featuring classic characters. Because your trip is coming up soon, you may have better luck getting a reservation at Cape May. Additionally, Lilo and Stitch, Mickey and Goofy, appear at 'Ohana at the Polynesian during breakfast.
If you're willing to venture into a theme park on your last day, there are also great character meals at the Animal Kingdom's Tusker House and the Magic Kingdom's Crystal Palace.
If characters don't see to be the way to go, another nice choice is the Whispering Canyon Cafe at the Wilderness Lodge. The servers here do a great job of promoting a Wild West atmosphere, with hobby horse rides around the lobby and other silly fun.
Any of these options would be a wonderful send-off.
Reservations can be made for all meals on the Walt Disney World website or by calling 407-WDW-DINE.
Good luck with your planning and please let us know if you have additional questions.
