Shaun,
Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!
Yes,
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a special event that is not covered by a standard theme park ticket. Tickets for select events like this, as well as with
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, are sold separately.
If you think you would want to attend the Halloween party, tickets typically start going on sale in May. There are certain nights that will definitely sell out, like the actual date of Halloween, so I would recommend getting them as soon as you decide.
Based on your arrival date in late October, the parties will likely all sell out. If you want to go, make sure you check the
Disney Parks Blog regularly for information on when ticket sales open. If you don't plan to go, know that parties are typically always held on Friday nights, and at least once earlier in the week. You can expect at the end of October that the party will be held almost every night. However, that Saturday would be your best bet to plan a day at the
Magic Kingdom where the party might not be held, and you can enjoy later park hours.

write me back directly if you have any follow-up questions.
Have a Magical Vacation!
