Is it more cost effective to use a dining plan when trying to set-up Character dining. I am trying to set two different ones up. I know the Cinderella will cost me 2 dining points per person.

    Erika,

Traditionally I have found that if you are going to be paying for some meals out-of-pocket because you have more meals planned than points available in your dining plan, then using points on 2-credit meals is typically NOT a good way to go.

So let me be clear. Using your dining credits for 2-credit meals (signature dining, some character meals, etc.) is typically not the most cost-effective way to go. I try to always use my dining plan points on 1-credit meals to get the most out of them. When you apply two points to one meal, the math typically tells me I get a lower $ value per point than when I use a single point for a single meal.

Of course if you have plenty of points, then use them wherever you can!

I hope that this is clear? If not, write me back with more specifics of what you want to do, and where, and I can provide some more specific suggestions!

Have a magical (and delicious) vacation!
