Norman,
Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!
I am a big fan of the
Disney's Coronado Springs Resort. I loved it before the addition of the new Gran Destino tower addition, and I love it even more now! The recent update to add this major main building has added so many wonderful dining and lounge options, it makes time back at the resort even more enjoyable.
The rooms at Coronado Springs do have both a hair dryer and an iron, already in the room. These are in the rooms as a standard amenity, and do not require you to request one from housekeeping. This does apply to both rooms in the new Gran Destino Tower, as well as the outlying building rooms as well.
BONUS TIP #1The coffee machines in the rooms at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort are K-cup machines by Keurig. There is a decent stocking of creamers and a few varieties of sweeteners, as well as two varieties of Joffrey's coffee, and one of Twining's tea. In all cases you get two pods each, for a total of 6. Of course, the room also does have a mini-fridge, if like me you are more prone to sodas over coffee.
BONUS TIP #2Three of the best lounges in all of Walt Disney World are found right there at the Coronado Springs resort.
Dahlia Lounge has can't-miss panoramic views from its rooftop perch. The
Three Bridges Bar & Grill is a wonderful escape, located squarely in the middle of Lago Dorado, and offering some fantastic sangria options. Finally, the
Barcelona Lounge, located just off the hotel lobby, offers both cocktails and coffee options with a stunning art installation that serves as a backdrop to the bar.
