When is the coolest weather and slowest time to go to Walt Disney World?

    Hi Mit,

I love that you're asking for the coolest weather! Most of us from up north want to visit when we can enjoy the sunshine and warmth, but I guess in Texas, you're used to that!

If you want to escape the heat of Texas, I'd suggest visiting the Walt Disney World Resort sometime between November and February. The weather can certainly vary then, and you might find anything from t-shirt and shorts weather to winter coat, hat, and gloves weather, but on average, that's when you'll find the coolest temps of the year. With a few exceptions, that's also a great time to visit, crowd-wise, since most schools around the country are in session then. The couple of weeks around Christmas and New Year's Eve are some of the most popular times of the year, so if you visit then, prepare to enjoy the parks with lots of other Mouseketeers! Other popular times to visit will be the weekends with RunDisney events (January 9 - 13 and February 21 - 24), the weekend of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (January 18 - 21), the weekend of President's Day (February 15 - 18), the weekend around Veteran's Day (November 8 - 11), and the week of Thanksgiving. Other than those times, though, you should enjoy lower crowd levels from November to February. With Disney's new date-based ticket prices, that's another great way to gauge expected crowd levels. The most popular days to visit are the days that cost a bit more.

I hope that this helps as you're planning your upcoming visit, Mit. Please feel free to visit us again as you have more questions! I hope that whenever you decide to visit, your vacation is truly magical!
