Welcome, Matt!
It sounds like you're getting ready to spend Easter with your family at the
Walt Disney World Resort! It's a really special time to enjoy the parks and resorts! My family and I had our best trip ever a couple years ago when we stayed over Easter at Disney!
We are also Catholic, like you, and certainly were not going to miss a Sunday Mass, much less an Easter Mass. In fact, my husband will be ordained a Permanent Deacon for our Archdiocese the weekend after Easter this year. Very exciting times!
Typically on our Walt Disney World vacations, we take an Uber or Lyft to the Basilica of the National Shrine of Mary, Queen of the Universe, close to Disney Springs, for Sunday Mass or the Saturday Vigil Mass. But, each year, Disney also offers Mass at the
Contemporary Resort on Easter morning. Mass is celebrated there usually at 8:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. with a Protestant Service in between at 9:15 a.m. I haven't seen final plans for this year yet, so please be sure to check with Guest Services at your resort when you arrive for specifics. You may consider taking a
Minnie Van straight to the Contemporary Resort on Easter morning from your resort so you don't have to transfer at a park to get there using Disney's regular transportation.
That Mass was such an amazing and memorable time to celebrate Easter with thousands of other Catholics from around the world. I say thousands, and I mean it! The ballrooms that were combined for the Mass held thousands and it was very well orchestrated. What a beautiful way to begin our day!
So, enjoy this joyous occasion of Easter by starting your day with Mass before you head out for more Easter fun in the parks, Matt! Enjoy every moment!
