what is the construction at the pool at animal kingdom lodge--I asked if any construction was going on at the resort at the time of our stay and the agent said no and I now read there will be

    Jambo, Susan!

Susan, Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is one of my absolute favorite places to stay. There is no feeling like waking up to a giraffe outside your balcony.

I know that these resorts can be a bit confusing, so stay with me. Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is the main hotel building. This resort's pool, called the Uzima Springs pool, is not under construction, so you have nothing to worry about!

There is a separate resort located about a 10-minute walk from the main resort called Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village. This resort's pool will be under construction during your stay; however, guests are welcome to hop on over to Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge to use the pool there. There is actually a shuttle that runs between the two buildings.

As an added tip, when you do your online check-in be sure to make a room request. Since this resort is so large, I always make sure to request a room near the lobby. Once I received the room at the very furthest corner of the property. While the view was completely breathtaking, it was a bit of a trek back to the room at the end of a long day at the parks.

I hope that this puts your mind at ease, Susan.

    Have a wild time!
