Aloha, Sheryl, and welcome to planDisney! Your planning 'ohana is here to help you prepare for your upcoming
Walt Disney World Resort visit. To paraphrase my favorite song from
Lilo & Stitch, there is no place I'd rather be than on a surfboard heading to Disney!
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort is an iconic landmark at Walt Disney World. Walking into that lobby, I'm immediately transported to a tropical paradise. I like to find a spot near the picture windows upstairs to relax and enjoy the view. Ahhh. If I try, I can hear the waves and feel the breeze off the water. I can also smell the aroma of that famous
'Ohana Bread Pudding!
Walt Disney said that progress is impossible without change, and the improvements to "The Poly" will certainly be welcome. I chatted with a lei-wearing Cast Member who said that although construction is still ongoing at this resort, there is currently no impact on the resort's
swimming pools. She noted that the walkway to Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is closed due to the work, but "The Grand" is a fun monorail ride away.
The good news is that construction noise and activity will not begin until after 9:00 AM, so if you don't want to be affected by the construction, you can head off for a day of theme park fun. Remember that refurbishment schedules can change depending on weather and other factors, so flexibility is key. As they say in Hawaii, "Just hang loose!"
One of my happiest memories is relaxing at sunset on the beach at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort with my planDisney pals. We reminisced and laughed together as families do. And we may or may not have ended up at Trader Sam's Tiki Terrace for some
Spikey Pineapples! I hope you make some magical memories like that during your stay.
Sheryl, I'm sprinkling pixie dust and hibiscus petals so you have a fabulous visit. Please stop by
planDisney anytime. We'll be here until the sun sets beyond the horizon. Mahalo!
Magic awaits,
Elaine
