We're considering a WDW vacation with a 6 yo and a 23 mo. We are looking to avoid crowds which accompany the abc parade. We were thinking of the week of december 1-6th. Would you suggest this week or maybe another? I am not sure of other events that week.

    Diane,

It is entirely possible that you will find that taping for the Christmas Day Parade show could be that very same week that you mention. While I think it is easier to navigate than most assume, it does make entry and exit from the park more problematic. It also can make getting that iconic picture on Main Street, U.S.A. harder.

If memory serves me, taping last year was on the weekend that spanned from the Friday to the Sunday of the first weekend in December. That included the Friday that was the last day of November. By that math, you should expect taping this year to be from November 30th through December the 2nd. Of course that is NOT official, just a guesstimate.

If it were me, and I had the flexibility, I would move my vacation off to just a few days later than what you describe. Anywhere from starting on the 4th, to even as late as the 10th.

I hope that this helps? Write me back if you have any follow-up questions!

    Have a magical vacation!
