Hello there Jonathan,
Welcome to planDisney! Thanks for sending in your question today. I love that you are doing your research, and planning all the practically perfect details for your Disney World vacation next summer. It's going to be so wonderful... and worth the wait!
It's good to consider your eating style and preferences when making a decision regarding which type of
Disney Dining Plan to purchase. At this time, you cannot use a table service entitlement for a quick-service meal. However, the plan does offer flexibility in other ways.
As soon as you check in on arrival day, all of your Dining Plan entitlements will be credited to your account. You can check your dining credits balance at any time in the
My Disney Experience app. Just look at your resort reservation details, under the "Check Dining Plan" tab. You can use your dining credits in any amount and order that you wish, throughout your trip. All credits will expire at midnight on your check out day.
So what does that look like? Well, perhaps you decide to use 2 table service meals in one day... reserving a fun breakfast character dining experience like
Topolino's Terrace in the morning, and a relaxing dinner in the parks later in the evening. Then the following day you end up using 2 quick-service meals, which allows you a more flexible schedule to eat whenever you're hungry and find a good location to walk in and dine.
Even when my kids were young, we found having an advance dining reservation for a calm, sit-down table service meal once each day was often a nice break. It's an opportunity to get off your feet, step away from the lines and crowds for a bit, and relax in an air conditioned space.
If you are concerned with having an excess of credits, another thing to consider is reserving something special that utilizes 2 table credits. For 2 table service credits, you could enjoy a signature dining experience like feasting in the castle at
Cinderella's Royal Table or a whimsical evening of songs, laughter, and delicious food at the
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Review dinner show.
Jonathan, you really can't go wrong with either dining plan choice. I hope this helps, and that you have a fabulous time at Walt Disney World! Please feel free to send me a direct
message at planDisney if I can assist with any other tips, ideas, or questions you may have.
Adventure is out there!
