We are considering a trip to WDW hopefully sometime in 2012 or early 2013. I have a 4and 5 year old. I have been looking at the resorts in and around disney but none of them seem to be geared towards the younger kids. which resort would be best for us?

    Hi Jennifer,

The honest truth is that all of Disney's resort hotels welcome children of all ages with open arms. There are amenities and activities for young children at hotels at all price points. For example, the deluxe level Yacht and Beach Club resorts have an incredible pool complex. There is a sandy-bottom area designed for preschoolers where they can build castles, just like they were on the beach, but without the yucky sea water. The Y&B pool also has a water slide especially for younger kids. At the deluxe Animal Kingdom Lodge resort, you can watch giraffes and zebras graze right outside your bedroom widow - perfect for the the tiny animal lover. The Kidani Village area of the AKL has a terrific interactive play area for little ones.

At the moderate level, the Caribbean Beach resort has pirate and princess themed rooms, plus some wonderful playgrounds. The Port Orleans resorts have bikes and fishing poles to rent.

At the value level, there are giant statues of childhood favorites that kids love to explore. There's a Dalmatian as big as a house! The All Star Music Resort and the new Art of Animation Resort have suites especially for families, with two small rooms, two bathrooms, and a kitchenette with a small refrigerator, microwave, and toaster.

At all resorts there are pool-side activities, evening movies, playgrounds and more. I've stayed at every WDW hotel except one, almost all with my three daughters. They've had a fabulous time no matter where we stayed, from the time they were toddlers until now in the teen years.

Choose the resort that appeals to YOU and your kids will be sure to have a wonderful time.
