Considering a trip for aug 20-26 2013 how hot is it usually ? how crowded are the parks since most have returened to school.debating between pop century or AOA which would you recommend Itenerary suggestion for the park. Mom panel rocks.

    Hi Michelle,

Late August is an excellent time for a Disney visit from a crowd perspective. After August 19, there are no months with a crowd prediction of greater than 5 (on a scale of 1-10) according to the independent website touringplans.com. Some days that week are as low as a crowd level 2!

From a heat perspective, the situation is not as good. The average daytime highs in August are in the low 90s, with high humidity. If you love heat, then you're fine. If not, then you may be uncomfortable.

Both the Pop Century and Art of Animation are fun hotels for a Disney stay. Personally, I choose AoA simply because it's newer and fresher. Also, the Big Blue pool there is a blast if you have kids. I love the AoA food court with its many customizable food options.

Since you're traveling at such a low crowd time, it doesn't matter too much which park you visit on which day. But if you write back and tell us a bit about your family (ages of kids, interests, etc.) we'd be happy to help you create a plan of must do items at each park.
