Hi Jeffrey!
Welcome to planDisney!
The holidays are one of the most wonderful (and magical) times of the year to visit the Walt Disney World Resort! By Thanksgiving, the holiday decorations will be up, with trees, wreaths, nostalgic music, and fanciful treats found through the parks and resorts!
This year, Thanksgiving is November 25, and many out-of-state Guests will plan a holiday trip to stay through the entire weekend. This would make November 26 through 28 a popular time to visit.
Additionally, there is a supply and demand issue at the moment in the travel industry. While traditionally the week after Thanksgiving does tend to have greater resort availability, after a year of giving up unnecessary travel and family vacations, people are now getting vaccinated and are ready to travel! Travel demand is up all across the United States. Many families are looking forward to some fun at the Most Magical Place on Earth, Walt Disney World! In terms of supply, not all hotels in the
Disney Resort Collection have reopened, so there are fewer rooms available for booking.
I would not say this is a very crowded time traditionally. But Jeffrey, making a crowd estimate this year will be very tough. While park capacity has been limited to this point with the use of the
Disney Park Pass System, as things improve, only Mickey knows if and when park capacity will be increased. We found crowds on our last visit to be very reasonable and manageable. While the week you are considering isn’t usually a super busy week, with everyone’s desire to travel, it is difficult to predict since this year is a bit different.
I hope this helps as you decide when to plan your visit, Jeffrey. Please let us know what additional questions you have as you plan your trip. We love talking Disney and are here to help!
