Hi Elizabeth,
I just returned from a quick visit to the Walt Disney World Resort with one of my daughters and we stayed at
Disney's Wilderness Lodge. Ohmygoodness, if you have the opportunity to stay there, I
definitely would! We absolutely LOVED it! It boggled my mind that we felt like we were smack dab in the middle of the Pacific Northwest when we were actually in central Florida! The attention to detail, both inside and out, is incredible!
I'm happy to let you know that Disney's complimentary
resort transportation makes getting around really simple, and you'll actually find
two boat routes that serve Disney's Wilderness Lodge. The blue flag launch travels between Disney's Wilderness Lodge, The Cabins & Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, and Disney's Contemporary Resort. The red flag route travels directly between the Resort hotel and Magic Kingdom Park. It's a peaceful ride that takes less than ten minutes, and you'll find these boats arriving about every 15 - 20 minutes, on average. My daughter and I especially enjoyed our ride back home after our fun day at Magic Kingdom Park because the
Electrical Water Pageant was crossing Bay Lake at the same time we were. So magical!
Disney Parks Moms Panel tip: Did you know that Fire Rock Geyser comes to life and erupts every hour on the hour during the day? You'll find it between the Copper Creek Springs Pool area and Bay Lake, and I definitely recommend experiencing it at some point on your trip!
Please let us know if we can help with anything else as you're planning your visit, Elizabeth. I hope that you have a truly magical vacation!
Missy
